Hurry! Last Chance to GIVE for Autism Acceptance Month

This month we did more than #CelebrateDifferences.

Dear Hcis,

This month we did more than #CelebrateDifferences. We created connections and built a stronger community by embracing the diversity of experiences and people within the Autism community. We also highlighted acceptance in action and invite you to join us by practicing acceptance every day.

Today is the final day to help us reach our fundraising goal for Autism Acceptance Month!

Together, we can continue to advocate for the services and supports that are necessary for those with Autism, based on their unique needs and experiences because acceptance means that we work together to create connections for everyone.

From advocacy and programs to support groups and helplines – the Autism Society is creating connections to information, resources, and supports that help Autistic individuals and their families live fully.

Give Today

Your support means that we can continue making connections for everyone in the Autism community every day. Join us today to celebrate Autism Acceptance Month and be the connection that builds our community year-round!

Sincerely,

Christopher Banks

Hcis, how do you #CelebrateDifferences?

Just because Autism Acceptance Month is coming to an end doesn’t mean that we stop practicing acceptance because…

Just because Autism Acceptance Month is coming to an end doesn’t mean that we stop practicing acceptance because…

Acceptance happens every day.

We’ve been sharing stories and information all month, but it won’t stop here. Acceptance means more than a designation for a month; it is an act of embracing the different and unique experiences across the Autism community.

Acceptance starts with an understanding that everyone’s unique experiences are valid and creating space for each member of the Autism community to speak openly and without judgment. We asked members of our community to tell us about themselves for Autism Acceptance Month, and the act of doing so helped create connections even within a family.

“Myself and my family really enjoyed ourselves at the photo shoot - the staff, photographers, and everyone there was so generous, so helpful, they made us feel like family. My son was a little intense in the beginning and it's really hard for him to open up, but he opened up to them.” – Kenya, parent participant in 2023 Autism Society Photoshoot
