Health.gov Webinar: Using Law and Policy as Tools to Support Healthy Aging in Healthy Communities Tuesday, December 11, 2018, 1:00 - 2:00 PM ET Register for the Webinar This webinar is hosted by the Office of Disease Prevention and Health Promotion (ODPHP) as part of the Healthy People Law and Health Policy Project. The event will discuss how to use laws and policies to create communities that are supportive and connected environments for older adults. Presenters will discuss policies and services that can help older adults to thrive in their homes and communities, including strategies to support and encourage healthy homes and aging in place. Panelists will also talk about how disability laws and protections, such as the Americans with Disabilities Act, can support older adults' participation in community life. Community examples will demonstrate innovative efforts that help older adults live independently as well as create healthy living environments for all. The Healthy People Law and Health Policy project is a collaboration between ODPHP, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the CDC Foundation, and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation. The project aims to highlight how evidence-based legal and policy interventions and strategies can facilitate progress toward Healthy People objectives by improving community health and well-being.
