Selected NIAID Science News Highlights of 2018

As 2019 approaches, a new slideshow highlights selected NIAID science news from the past year. NIAID scientists and NIAID-supported researchers made significant advances in understanding and treating allergic, immunologic, autoimmune and infectious diseases. Other work accelerated progress toward development of novel, safe and effective vaccines, including a universal flu vaccine. In addition, NIAID issued a strategic plan to reinvigorate research on tuberculosis, the leading infectious cause of death worldwide.
