This session will provide insights on the next steps for several Medicaid and CHIP performance systems, and discuss the different ways that measures can be used by state and federal agencies to promote accountability and drive quality improvement. Speakers will discuss the next iterations of the Medicaid and CHIP Scorecard, which seeks to increase public transparency about the programs' administration and outcomes; and the CMS Child and Adult Core Sets, which are an important part of the information contained in the Scorecard. Both measurement tools are changing in the coming years, and speakers will discuss those changes, including the introduction of mandatory reporting of certain Core Set measures in 2024 and use of performance measurement for accountability, and for quality improvement.
