The NIAID Radiation/Nuclear Countermeasures Program (RNCP) supports extramural research to develop safe and effective radiation medical countermeasures and biodosimetry methods and/or devices for clinical use under emergency situations.

We are happy to share that the March 2019 issue of Health Physics highlights many NIAID-funded studies that examine radiation-induced injury in a large animal model. These papers represent a close examination of the natural history of multi-organ injury following partial-body radiation exposure (best viewed in Chrome):
