Study Explains How Glucocorticoids Regulate Immunity

New research sheds light on how the human immune system responds to glucocorticoids, a widely used class of immunosuppressive and anti-inflammatory drugs. In the February issue of the Journal of Experimental Medicine, NIAID scientists describe how immune responses to glucocorticoids differ by cell type. This information may aid development of improved therapies that specifically target the cell types of interest for treatment of various diseases, including autoimmune disorders.
