Complementary Approaches for Women’s Health

It's National Women's Health Week this week, so this is a great time to think about setting goals or addressing any health concerns you might have. Below are some resources about complementary approaches for health conditions of particular concern to women.

  • Did you know that several mind and body approaches, including hypnotherapy, mindfulness meditation, and yoga, have been studied for symptoms associated with menopause? Find out more in our menopause fact sheet.

  • Cranberry has been used as a dietary supplement to try to prevent urinary tract infections in high-risk women. Find out what the research shows about cranberry.

  • Fibromyalgia, a disorder that involves widespread pain, tenderness, and fatigue, is much more common in women than men. Read NCCIH's fact sheet on complementary approaches for fibromyalgia.
