Adjuvant Boosts Venom Immunotherapy for Bee Sting Allergies

While venom immunotherapy can be effective for people allergic to honeybee stings, the therapy requires frequent clinic visits and relies on costly venom extracts. A study published in the Journal of Allergy & Clinical Immunology suggests that an NIH-developed adjuvant boosted the effect of immunotherapy in 27 adults—a change that may mitigate some treatment challenges.
