The Autism Society of America Promise During COVID-19

The Autism Society of America promises to remain committed to improving the lives of all affected by autism across the spectrum and throughout the lifespan, and will focus on providing information, resources, and advocacy efforts to address these urgent needs. 

The autism community faces extraordinary challenges during the COVID-19 crisis. We are proud to launch a comprehensive toolkit on our website, which provides COVID-19 information and resources by topic, including Mental Health & Respite, Modifying Routines, Lifestyle Supports, and much more.

Our Response & Impact

The Autism Society of America was the first national autism organization to provide immediate, comprehensive information and ongoing supports, including:

  • Autism Society: Coronavirus Information Series, an ongoing Facebook Live broadcast featuring expert discussions surrounding different topics like mental health, emergency funding, respite care and more.
    • Tune in on Thursday, March 26th, at 3pm EST with Dr. Cathy Pratt, Director of Indiana Center for Autism, as she discusses, "Supporting Individuals on the Autism Spectrum with Co-Occurring Mental Health Challenges."
    • Watch this week's Facebook Live, with Kim Musheno, VP of Public Policy, discussing the recently passed Families First Act.
  • Our website page dedicated to COVID-19 with comprehensive resources by topic provided by professionals in the autism community.
  • Co-hosting an educational series addressing COVID-19 needs with myHana.
  • Weekly video updates detailing our response and support efforts.
