Our Commitment to You During COVID-19 & Always

A video from our CEO, & Corona Virus resources for the autism community.

Dear Hcis,

The Autism Society of America understands the ongoing concerns surrounding the coronavirus. During this crisis, and always, the Autism Society communicates regularly with you, with our staff, and our affiliates to provide relevant information to address the added challenges for the autism community.

We are prepared for situations like this because of our Board of Directors, both our Panel of People on the Autism Spectrum and our Panel of Professional Advisors, our 78 affiliates, our thousands of donors, and above all, because of the grassroots community we created across this country.

This week we worked quickly and efficiently to continue to support the autism community, including:

1. Hosted a webinar for our affiliates about COVID-19 on how to continue to support their communities through reputable resources and by working with local officials.

2. Worked with affiliates to address program and event postponement/cancellation, and discussed alternative solutions.

3. Created and distributed COVID-19 Preparedness and Resources

4. Collaborated with our partners and decided to cancel the Disability Policy Seminar

5. Issued an Action Statement for emergency funding for the autism community for paid family leave, community-based services, emergency direct support professionals and respite care, during this increased time of need.

6. Reviewed our Business Contingency Plan for operations at the national office to continue through this crisis.

We will continue to keep you updated by email, social media, and on our website. If you have questions about the measures we are taking to ensure the safety of the people we serve, or for those needing support, visit www.autism-society.org or please contact our National Helpline at 1(800)3-AUTISM, or via email at info@autism-society.org.

Please remember to follow basic hygiene precautions and other health related guidelines provided by the CDC, and listed on our website.

We wish our local and global community well in these trying times and look forward to seeing you soon at future Autism Society of America events.

All My Best,

Christopher Banks
