The Autism Society is focused on providing resources surrounding Policy Advocacy, where our efforts, determination, and progress are exemplified at the local, state, and national levels. 2020 brings new and potential legislation surrounding community living, healthcare, housing, and employment, all of which affects the disability community—and with over 5,500 letters sent to congress through the Autism Society Action Center in the last 12 months, we are proud to continue to facilitate advocacy efforts for the extended disability community. Disability rights are human rights, and together we can make our voices heard. GET RESOURCE GUIDE Countdown to National Autism Awareness Month This April, the Autism Society of America will #CelebrateDifferences through our efforts to spread awareness, promote acceptance, and ignite change. We are providing educational materials of signs and symptoms to promote awareness about current facts and statistics. Knowledge promotes acceptance and we will continue to ignite change through inclusivity, and community building. LEARN MORE Disability Policy Seminar This month, the Autism Society will partner with other national, leading disability organizations to put on the Disability Policy Seminar (DPS). The seminar offers an opportunity for passionate advocates, self-advocates, experts, and professionals in the disability community to come together and learn about key issues and advocacy efforts. Get Counted, Census 2020 The census helps determine how over $675 billion will be allocated across local health care, housing, education, transportation, employment, and public policy.  The Autism Society of America and other national disability organizations advocate for better and supported policies throughout these quality of life indicators.
