Ayurvedic medicine is an ancient Indian medical system based on writings that rely on a "natural" and holistic approach to physical and mental health. It's one of the world's oldest medical systems.

 

A few studies have suggested that Ayurvedic preparations might be helpful for osteoarthritis or type 2 diabetes, but Ayurvedic preparations also have serious safety concerns. Some of them contain lead, mercury, or arsenic in amounts that can be toxic.
