The HHS Office for Civil Rights (OCR) has released guidance on Civil Rights Protections Prohibiting Race, Color and National Origin Discrimination During COVID‐19

The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) has developed COVID-19 Guidance for Community Providers, including specific guidance for health care professionals who provide services to Veterans.

The American Medical Association is curating COVID-19  Health Equity Resources  from across the web to examine the structural issues that contribute to and could exacerbate already existing inequities. 

The Washington State University has developed the COVID Urban Rural Explorer, which tracks and compares urban versus rural COVID-19 cases.

National Health Center Week 2020: Community Health Centers, Lighting the Way for Healthier Communities Today and in the Future

OMH and the National Association of Community Health Centers recognize August 9-15 as National Health Center Week with the theme, "Community Health Centers: Lighting the Way for Healthier Communities Today and in the Future." 

National Health Center Week is an annual celebration of the mission and accomplishments of America's health centers. This year, the observance seeks to celebrate and honor the roles community health centers have played during the COVID-19 pandemic, including finding innovative ways to provide preventative and primary care to their patients.

The Library of Congress 20th Annual National Book Festival will be held online, September 25-27. The festival will connect with audiences across the country for an interactive, online celebration of new books by more than 120 of the nation's most-renowned writers, poets and artists.

BOOST: Breastfeeding Onset and Onward with Support Tools

This randomized controlled trial, sponsored by RTI International, the NIH Eunice Kennedy Shriver National Institute of Child Health and Human Development (NICHD), Temple University and Christiana Care Health Services, seeks mothers ages 18-44 years old in order to test the efficacy of health incentives to increase breastfeeding duration among low-income WIC eligible mothers. Study to be conducted at Temple University in Philadelphia, Penn.

Serological Surveillance for COVID-19 in Central North Carolina

This longitudinal study, sponsored by the NIH National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS), seeks healthy adults, age 18 years or older, without a current active COVID-19 infection or current symptoms consistent with COVID-19 within Central North Carolina in order to identify the presence and rate of development of anti-SARS-CoV-2 antibodies in North Carolina. Study to be conducted at the NIEHS Clinical Research Unit in Research Triangle Park, NC.

Fellowship: Post-Doctoral AAPA Leadership Fellows Program 

The Asian American Psychological Association (AAPA) Post-Doctoral Leadership Fellows Program is a two-year leadership pipeline program that provides mentorship and professional development for early career psychologists. The program seeks to demystify leadership and provide access to leadership opportunities by creating more pathways for psychologists from diverse groups, including access to Asian American mentors.

Training: COVID-19 - Effective Nursing in Times of Crisis

The Johns Hopkins University online course will explore how nursing can respond to the challenges posed by low resources and high societal uncertainty in the wake of COVID-19. Topics covered include: nursing in the COVID-19 pandemic, addressing patients' social and cultural norms, nursing and palliative care in a low-resource environment and lessons learned in crisis settings.
