The CDC has also released a Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report that provides data on COVID-19 among American Indian and Alaska Native Persons - 23 States, January 31-July 3, 2020. The HHS U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has compiled a list of resources on Food Safety and COVID-19 that includes information for consumers, retail food establishments, the food service industry, food facilities and farms. Resources are available in English and Spanish. The American Clinical Laboratory Association has released information and resources for healthcare providers on Data Reporting for COVID-19 Testing. The National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine invite public comments on a Discussion Draft of the Preliminary Framework for Equitable Allocation of COVID-19 Vaccine, part of a study commissioned by NIH and the CDC. The study will recommend priorities to inform allocation of a limited initial supply of COVID-19 vaccine, taking into account factors such as racial/ethnic inequities and groups at higher risk due to health status, occupation or living conditions.

Deadline is September 4. | Call for Nominations for the CDC Tribal Advisory Committee  The Tribal Advisory Committee (TAC) advises the CDC Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry (CDC/ATSDR) on policy issues and broad strategies that may significantly affect AI/AN communities. The CDC/ATSDR TAC is currently recruiting delegates for the Bemidji area, the California area, the Great Plains area, the Phoenix area, the Tucson area and Tribes At-Large. Delegates must be elected tribal officials acting in their official capacity as elected officials of their tribe, with authority to act on behalf of the tribe and qualified to represent the views of the AI/AN tribes in the area from which they are nominated.
Deadline is September 11. | Maternal Mortality Campaign: Hear Her  The CDC has released the Hear Her campaign, which brings attention to maternal morbidity and mortality in the United States. Hear Her seeks to raise awareness of potentially life-threatening warning signs during and in the year after pregnancy and encourages the people supporting pregnant and postpartum women to really listen and take action when she expresses concerns. The campaign page is available in English and Spanish. | Publications: First One Hundred Collection  The First One Hundred Institute, in collaboration with Unite for Literacy, has developed a collection of children's picture books created especially for AI/AN communities. The books are narrated in a variety of indigenous languages and English, providing additional support for emergent readers and speakers. The collection includes COVID-19 guides for AI/AN families.
