| Advancing Prevention and Reducing Childhood Caries in Medicaid and CHIP Learning Collaborative Webinar #3: "Oral Health Care Coordination and Effectuated Referrals" Tuesday, October 27, 2020 1:00 – 2:00 PM (EDT) The Center for Medicaid & CHIP Services (CMCS) is pleased to announce the following training opportunity: CMCS has launched the "Advancing Prevention and Reducing Childhood Caries in Medicaid and CHIP Learning Collaborative" to support state Medicaid and Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP) agencies to improve children's oral health. The Learning Collaborative consists of two parts: a webinar series that began in spring 2020, and an affinity group that will launch in early 2021. CMCS invites you to attend the "Oral Health Care Coordination and Effectuated Referrals" webinar on Tuesday, October 27, 2020, from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. EDT. This webinar will feature two state initiatives that successfully advanced care coordination between medical and dental providers for Medicaid and CHIP-enrolled children. Bonnie Stanley, DDS, Dental Director, NJ FamilyCare, will discuss working with managed care organizations and the state American Academy of Pediatrics chapter to engage pediatric primary care providers in fluoride varnish delivery and coordinated referrals to dental providers. Patty Braun, MD, MPH, FAAP, Professor of Pediatrics, University of Colorado Anschutz School of Medicine, will provide an overview of her state's model of integrated care coordination, which includes an embedded oral health care provider in primary care settings. Speakers will describe the structure and the value of using FASI, including FASI's role in facilitating interoperability across acute, post-acute, and HCBS. The webinar will feature a state approach from Colorado. These webinars kick-off a series of technical assistance events, including quarterly webinars, office hours, and respective communities of practice for HCBS CAHPS® and FASI, called Early Adoption Work Groups, that will launch in winter 2020.
