A Cancer Currents blog post, co-authored by NCI Director, Norman E. Sharpless, MD, and NCI Deputy Director, Dinah S. Singer, PhD, recently published to highlight some of the progress made under Cancer MoonshotSM to date. The post, The Cancer Moonshot: A Midpoint Progress Update, shares how NCI is addressing the goals of the Cancer Moonshot by investing nearly $1 billion to fund 240 research projects across 70 cancer science initiatives. We encourage you to read about the various projects discussed – including improving and expanding cancer immunotherapies, identifying new targets for pediatric cancer, generating tumor atlases, and expanding cancer prevention and early detection. In addition, learn how Cancer Moonshot programs are working to increase patient engagement, foster collaboration among investigators, and enhance data sharing. For those interested in learning more, we also invite you to visit the Cancer Moonshot web pages and to join us for a monthly Cancer Moonshot Seminar Series. |
