Here's how you can be #VaccineReady. HHS OMH.

The HHS Office of Minority Health (OMH) has created a #VaccineReady​ video series to empower communities to proactively practice COVID-19 safety measures, get the facts about COVID-19 vaccines, share accurate vaccine information and get vaccinated when the time comes.

Live with Leadership with Dr. Carl Dieffenbach Now Available

On February 4, the Office of Infectious Disease and HIV/AIDS Policy held the first Live with Leadership conversation of 2021 with a recap from the HIV Research for Prevention (HIV R4P) Conference. The Live with Leadership conversation featured a discussion of new research released at HIV R4P. Dr. Carl Dieffenbach, Director of the Division of AIDS at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, also addressed the effects of COVID-19 for people living with HIV.

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration has granted Emergency Use Authorization for the Johnson & Johnson Janssen COVID-19 Vaccine for individuals 18 years of age and older.

The Centers for Disease and Prevention (CDC), in partnership with Boston Children's Hospital, Harvard Medical School and Castlight, has created VaccineFinder, a free, online service where you can search for locations that offer COVID-19 vaccinations.

The Stronger Together Partnership (STP) conducted interviews on the impact of COVID-19 with hundreds of organizations providing HIV/STI/HCV services to racial, ethnic, Tribal and LGBTQ communities across the U.S. and its territories. STP has now released the Final Report of the COVID-19 National Rapid Assessment.

This study, sponsored by the University of Kentucky and the NIH National Institute on Drug Abuse, seeks women age 18 years or older who have been or will soon be released from jail and who live in a rural, Appalachian county. The study will be carried out at the University of Kentucky in Lexington, Kentucky.

Five, Plus Nuts and Beans for Kidneys

This study, sponsored by Johns Hopkins University and the NIH National Institute on Minority Health and Health Disparities (NIMHD), seeks African American volunteers age 21 years or older who have been diagnosed with hypertension (high blood pressure). The study will test a dietary advice program based on the Dietary Approaches to Stop Hypertension or DASH diet. The study is recruiting volunteers at the East Baltimore Medical Campus in Baltimore, Maryland.
