Join us for Pride Month

June is Pride Month
Our June Toolkit focuses on Pride Month, Autistic Pride Day, providing support resources, statistics, and information for inclusive summer activities; additionally, we'll continue emphasizing COVID-19 education and general COVID-19 support. Our policy resources review President Biden's American Rescue Plan, an action alert about national training for police and mental health crisis support bills, and details about schools reopening from the Department of Education’s Office for Civil Rights.
Did you know: Research shows that people with autism report higher rates of LGBTQ and lower rates of heterosexuality. Children on the autism spectrum are 3 times as likely to be targets of bullying and physical or sexual abuse, compared to their neurotypical peers; a statistic that increases with intersectionalities with sexual orientation and gender fluidity
The Autism Society network is comprised of 73 affiliates across the country. Highlighted below are just some of the events and programs offered related to our June theme:

  • The Autism Society of Texas is planning a virtual "Autism Bike Ride & Fun Run" from May 15th - June 5th to benefit the autism community.

Our Promise During COVID-19: The Autism Society of America promises to remain committed to improving the lives of all affected by autism across the spectrum and throughout the lifespan, and will focus on providing information, resources, and advocacy efforts to address these urgent needs.
