Strengthen Family Bonds this Summer

Strengthen Family Bonds this July
Our July Toolkit focus is on strengthening family bonds, inclusive summer activities, and back-to-school prep; additionally, we'll continue emphasizing COVID-19 vaccination information and general COVID-19 support. Our policy resources include information regarding the reopening of schools and rights for students, as well as long-term care serving people with intellectual disabilities.
Did you know: When transitioning to a new school, early visits can be especially helpful to adjust to a new environment. The middle school transition can be especially challenging because students may be doing many things for the first time – switching classes, using lockers, changing into gym uniforms, riding buses, and negotiating big or crowded hallways.
The Autism Society network is comprised of 73 affiliates across the country. Highlighted below are just some of the events and programs offered related to our July theme:

  • The Autism Society of Texas is holding its first annual Autism Workforce Empowerment Day event, Job Surfing Virtual Showcase, on July 24th at 10 am on Zoom.

Our Promise During COVID-19: The Autism Society of America promises to remain committed to improving the lives of all affected by autism across the spectrum and throughout the lifespan, and will focus on providing information, resources, and advocacy efforts to address these urgent needs.
