Do your children use complementary health approaches? If they do—or if you're considering trying a complementary approach for your child—here are some points to consider:

  • There's evidence that biofeedback, guided imagery, hypnosis, mindfulness, and yoga can be helpful for symptoms such as anxiety and stress in children.

  • Because of their small size, developing organs, and immature immune systems, children may be more vulnerable than adults to allergic or other adverse reactions to dietary supplements.

  • It's a good idea to talk with your child's health care provider about the effectiveness and possible risks of approaches you're considering or already using for your child.
