Complementary health approaches can help people manage some cancer symptoms or side effects of treatment. For example, acupuncture may help manage treatment-related nausea and vomiting, and mindfulness-based stress reduction may help relieve anxiety, fatigue, and mood and sleep disturbances.

 

If you have been diagnosed with cancer, talk with your health care providers before using any complementary health approach. It's important for your health care providers to know about everything you're doing to manage your health so they can make sure that all aspects of your care work well together.
