Each year on October 15, NLAAD acknowledges the disproportionate impact of HIV on Hispanic and Latinx communities. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), in 2018, Hispanics/Latinos accounted for 27% of the new HIV diagnoses in the United States dependent areas. Stigma, poverty, and limited access to health care are among the HIV-related challenges facing Hispanic/Latino communities.
