The Tuberculosis Elimination Alliance invites AAPI and Native Hawaiian-serving community health centers in the U.S. and U.S. territories to complete a 30-minute survey on the challenges and innovations of their latent tuberculosis infection (LTBI) and TB practices. Survey results will inform the development of comprehensive and population specific LTBI/TB testing and treatment. This Is My Story Are you interested in raising awareness around mental health, resilience, ending stigma, and more? The Eunice Kennedy Shriver National Institute of Child Health and Human Development (NICHD), the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH), and the National Institute on Minority Health and Health Disparities (NIMHD) want to hear from teens ages 16-18 in the national essay challenge, Speaking Up About Mental Health! This Is My Story. Deadline is April 30. | Heart Health Campaign: Get Down With Your Blood Pressure Self-monitoring your blood pressure is power! With nearly half of all adults in the U.S. having high blood pressure, the American Heart Association National Hypertension Control Initiative is encouraging everyone to "Get Down With Your Blood Pressure." The "Get Down With Your Blood Pressure" campaign raises awareness about high blood pressure and its connection to COVID-19, empowering everyone to learn more about their numbers and the importance of accurately self-monitoring blood pressure. Whether you have five minutes or an hour, there's an asset available for you! | | | | Clinical Trials | Mindfulness for African American Mothers with a Preterm or Full-term Infant (MAAPI Study) This study, sponsored by Loyola University and the National Institute of Nursing Research (NINR), seeks Black women ages 18-55 years old. This clinical trial will evaluate the effectiveness of a culturally tailored intervention to decrease maternal psycho-behavioral symptoms and improve mother/infant bonding. The study will be carried out at the Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood, Illinois. Improving COVID-19 Vaccine Uptake Among Black and Latino Youth This study, sponsored by Nemours Children's Health System, the National Institute of General Medical Sciences (NIGMS), the University of Delaware, and ChristianaCare, seeks youth ages 0-21 years of age and their caregivers. The study will be carried out at the Nemours Children's Hospital in Wilmington, Delaware. | | | Workforce Development | NAACP Inspire Initiative: Write Her Future Scholarship The NAACP Write Her Future Scholarship is open to Black students or students of color who identify as female and will be enrolling in a four-year academic institution. Applicants must be current participants in an active NAACP Afro-Academic, Cultural, Technological and Scientific Olympics (ACT-SO) program, which includes the fields of medicine and health, biology/microbiology, and chemistry/biochemistry. Deadline for application is May 20, by 6:00 p.m. ET. Salud Rural Maternal Child Health Fellowship The Salud Rural Maternal Child Health Fellowship prepares board-certified family physicians for practice in rural, underserved, or migrant farmworker settings through training in obstetrics, neonatal complications, and advanced gynecologic procedures. Fellows will be primarily placed at the Salud Medical Center in Woodburn, Oregon, the Lancaster Family Health Center in Salem, Oregon, and the Legacy Silverton Medical Center in Silverton, Oregon.
