It's World Autism Acceptance Day!  Today the world honors Autism Acceptance Day. Autism is not one thing. It is many things. And every experience is unique and valued. No matter where you live, who you are, your background or abilities, you should be able to have the connection to supports, services, community and resources needed to live fully. That’s why the Autism Society envisions a world where everyone in the Autism community is connected to the support they need, when they need it.   Join the Autism Society to honor the diversity of experiences across the spectrum today and throughout Autism Acceptance Month. “I celebrate differences by being me, and advocating and teaching others about Autism from my perspective based on my own journey with Autism. Last year, with a network of 70+ affiliates across the country, the Autism Society: Fielded 153,000 calls, emails and support inquiries.  Supported 1.3 million people with information and resources from the Autism Society of America’s website. Rallied advocates who sent over 3,000 letters to members of Congress through the Autism Society Action Center. Connected 26,000 people to local support groups across the country.  You can make a difference: $25 provides one hour of support from our Helpline. $50 supports social story development for COVID-19 resources. de $100 goes towards state advocacy efforts for human rights. $250 supports National program development for safety and wandering, employment and more.
