You're Invited to the White House Mental Health Virtual Event: The Neuroscience Behind the Youth Mental Health Crisis

Join the White House and the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH) on Thursday, May 19 from 2:30–3:00p.m. ET for the first in a series of virtual conversations to explore the science of psychological distress and mental health challenges and highlight promising areas of current mental health research. The first event in the series is dedicated to the increasingly urgent issue of adolescent mental health.

The event features NIMH Deputy Director Dr. Shelli Avenevoli, along with Dr. Carrie D. Wolinetz, Deputy Director for Health & Life Sciences at the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy (OSTP), and Dr. Wilson M. Compton, Deputy Director of the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA). These federal scientific thought leaders will give insight into the contributing factors behind the youth mental health crisis and what can be done to address mental health challenges now and in the future.
