HHS Awards Over $10 Million for Initiatives on Black Youth Mental Health, Structural Racism in Public Health, and Language Access

The HHS Office of Minority Health (OMH) is dedicated to improving the health of racial and ethnic minority populations through the development of health policies and programs that will help eliminate health disparities. Through its demonstration projects, OMH supports the identification of effective approaches for improving health outcomes and promotes the dissemination and sustainability of these approaches.

Everyone six months and older should get a flu vaccine every season. The flu vaccine can reduce flu illnesses, doctors' visits, and hospitalizations and has been shown to be life-saving.

CDC and OMH invite you to join us in encouraging everyone to get a flu vaccine this year with the new Fight Flu: Don't Let It Stop You campaign. The campaign includes resources to help you promote flu vaccination this season, including customizable frames and story panels.

Despite its prevalence--more than one in three Americans has prediabetes--more than eight in ten people with prediabetes don't know they have it.

To help people make that vital connection, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Imagine You Preventing Type 2 campaign takes viewers inside the real-life experiences of three participants in the National Diabetes Prevention Program lifestyle change program. Through unscripted storytelling, participants share their progress, including overcoming plateaus, handling obstacles, and celebrating successes.

Functional Interval Training for Veterans Exercising Through Telehealth. 

This study, sponsored by the VA Office of Research and Development, seeks veterans 50+ for a 12 week high-intensity circuit exercise delivered by VTEL to older Veterans living with HIV that compares the exercise group to the standard of care sedentary control group. The study will be carried out at:

The CDC E-learning Institute (ELI) is designed to cultivate skills of public health training professionals with limited experience designing or developing e-learning products. This report was developed by the White House Office of National AIDS Policy (ONAP) in collaboration with federal partners and with input from the HIV community across the country.
