It’s my great joy to connect with you during this special time, just before you sit down at the table with friends and family for the holiday.
Please know that you are top of mind and that I hold such gratitude for you.
Without you, it would be impossible for us to connect with people on the Autism spectrum, their loved ones, caregivers, teachers, and many others in the community.
So on this day before Thanksgiving, let me share a few accomplishments that you helped us to achieve:
- More than 1.2 million people received valuable information, resources, and ways to get involved via the Autism Society website.
- We advocated for funding, resources, and policies to support the lives of people with Autism through more than 20 pieces of legislation.
- Educational events offered across the country provided more than 58,000 people with information on a range of topics, such as how local businesses can make inclusive accommodations for people with Autism.
- Thousands of Autistic individuals, caregivers, and healthcare providers received our Guide to Accessible Vaccine Clinics, which gives advice on creating a supportive environment for people with Autism to receive vaccinations.
With you at our side, the Autism Society can expand its reach across the country to connect everyone in the Autism community to the support they need, when they need it. Moreover, we can continue to work towards a game-changing social shift, moving further than awareness, to acceptance of the varied and diverse Autism experience.
Again, I’m so very thankful that you’re a partner, advocate, and connection to the Autism community.
