We can never take for granted the worth, dignity, and gifts of a single person. That’s why today—December 10th—is so important for the Autism community. Seventy-four years ago, the United Nations adopted the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, which outlines fundamental protections to preserve “the equal and inalienable rights of all members of the human family.”
This pact has served as a vision for a brighter future and a mechanism for enforcing standards of equality for all—especially for those who are often marginalized. Unfortunately, people with Autism often fall into this category— lacking equitable access to education, employment, housing, and healthcare, among other basic human needs.
As a dedicated advocate for the Autism community, you can show your commitment to the Autism Society by supporting our work today. Your donation will go towards important programs that prevent discrimination against people with Autism and help them live their lives fully.
You can also learn more about our impact and the work we do by tuning in to our Community Connections episode with President and CEO, Christopher Banks, on Tuesday, December 13th at 3 pm ET.
As we recognize this important day, all of us at the Autism Society are so grateful for your support to ensure Autistic individuals stay healthy, keep safe, and live as fully as possible. |
