Are you ready for Autism Acceptance Month?

As Autism Acceptance Month approaches, we are reminded that acceptance is welcoming the diversity of thoughts, experiences, and needs across the Autism community.

Did you know the prevalence rate for Autism diagnoses are increasing? In the US, 1 in 36 children are diagnosed with Autism, and there are over 5.8 million Autistic adults. Early diagnosis for children before 4 years of age has proven to have a significant impact on their lifelong outcomes, as they are more likely to receive services that support their development through childhood.

Autism Acceptance Month starts TOMORROW! Please join the Autism Society of America as we share more information about Autism and practice acceptance in everyday actions we can all take.

The Autism Society of America is proud to announce our partnership with Goodnites, the #1 bedwetting underwear brand, to educate, support, and provide solutions for families of children with Autism who need a longer-term bedwetting solution. While bedwetting is a common occurrence among all kids, children with Autism and/or ADHD may face a longer experience with nocturnal enuresis, commonly known as bedwetting.

Goodnites is addressing challenges faced by many in the Autism community with higher support needs, that are not often talked about,” said Christopher Banks, President and CEO of the Autism Society of America. “The resources this partnership creates will serve as a starting point for conversations that will help break the stigma in a community that can often feel isolated and underserved.”

This April, the Autism Society of America is highlighting partners who are demonstrating acceptance in action for Autism Acceptance Month. Corporations have increasingly acknowledged that they have critical roles to play in creating a more accepting and inclusive culture for individuals with Autism, among other developmental disabilities and physical differences. Acceptance happens everyday in big and small ways.

For families and individuals with needs that require specific and around-the-clock care, the Autism Society of America is committed to amplifying their stories and experiences and continues to advocate for expanded services and supports that meet their needs.

Please join us as we work together to create a more accepting world with the resources, supports, services, and connections for the Autism community to live fully.
