Health equity is the foundation for a healthy life.

We believe that health equity is a cornerstone for people with Autism to live to their fullest extent. The Autism Society understands the vast experiences, needs, and diversity of the Autism community’s health needs. We also know that systemic barriers to access healthcare continue to impact individuals and families - some of whom have had traumatic experiences and deep feelings of mistrust towards providers and agencies.  A gift today will support our ongoing efforts to address health equity. Give Today Last month, the Autism Society received our largest single grant in the organization’s history to expand our health equity work – a grant from the Aging and Disability Vaccination Collaborative (ADVC) to provide outreach, technical assistance, and support to promote vaccination uptake.  Following the highly successful rollout of our Vaccine Education Initiative (VEI), the Autism Society will be able to expand our public health model that promotes vaccine confidence, education, provider training, and access to increase vaccination rates for underserved populations. The Autism Society of America recently announced our partnership with Goodnites, the #1 bedwetting underwear brand, to educate, support, and provide solutions for families of children with Autism who need a longer-term bedwetting solution. With a commitment to breaking stigmas, sharing educational resources, and providing actionable solutions, our two organizations are working together to further the impact of our health equity work.
