New OMH Blog for Health Equity! EQUITY Through Communication by RDML Richardae Araojo, Pharm.D., M.S.
"This year's theme supports OMHHE's mission to promote and protect the health of diverse populations through research and communication of science that addresses health disparities." In honor of this year's National Minority Health Month theme, Better Health Through Better Understanding, the HHS Office of Minority Health (OMH) is highlighting some of our federal partners who are working to address health disparities through culturally and linguistically competent healthcare services, information, and resources on the OMH Blog for Health Equity. New blogs are posted each Thursday throughout April. In the first blog in this series, RDML Richardae Araojo, Pharm.D., M.S., Associate Commissioner for Minority Health and Director of the Office of Minority Health and Health Equity (OMHHE), U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), outlines the OMHHE Enhance EQUITY Initiative which focuses on advancing diversity in clinical trials, increasing data on diverse groups, and understanding diverse patient perspectives, preferences, and unmet needs.
