Training Manual for Surveillance of Suicide and Self-Harm in Communities via Key Informants

There are considerable discrepancies in the quality of data on suicide and self-harm globally. The aim of this training manual from the World Health Organization is to equip fieldworkers and supervisors with the skills to collect and manage data on suicide and self-harm in the community via key informants, health-care facilities and police records.

This training manual was developed as part of the National Institute of Mental Health's Suicide Prevention and Implementation Research Initiative (SPIRIT) scale-up hub. SPIRIT is a research partnership that aims to bridge the gap between scientific evidence and practice in suicide prevention and mental health interventions in India and Bangladesh.
