The National Action Alliance for Suicide Prevention, which the National Institute of Mental Health is a member of, is conducting a national needs assessment to gather feedback from suicide prevention professionals, advocates, and volunteers about the nation's suicide prevention efforts and the National Strategy for Suicide Prevention (National Strategy). SPRC and Action Alliance will use this feedback to inform the suicide prevention goals, objectives, and actions that will appear in the updated 2024 National Strategy. The needs assessment should take approximately 10 minutes to complete and will remain open through May 12. It is anonymous and confidential. First released in 2001 and updated in 2012 by the U.S. Surgeon General and Action Alliance, the National Strategy provided four strategic directions and included 13 goals and 60 objectives intended to guide suicide prevention efforts in the U.S. through 2022. By completing this needs assessment, you will help ensure that the updated 2024 National Strategy accurately represents current trends and the changing landscape of the suicide prevention field. If you have any questions, please email nationalstrategy2024@gmail.com and include "National Strategy 2024 Needs Assessment" in the email subject line. Thank you so much for your commitment to saving lives! |
