Together, we can prevent water tragedies.

No one should ever have to experience the tragedy of losing a loved one to drowning.

Dear Hcis,

No one should ever have to experience the tragedy of losing a loved one to drowning.

As we approach the height of summer, we are reminded that the allure of water is often irresistible to individuals with Autism. Tragically, drowning is a leading cause of death for Autistic children — accounting for about 91% of fatalities for kids aged 14 and under who are on the spectrum.

Any loss of life in our community is simply unacceptable, Hcis, and that’s why I’m asking you to make your contribution this summer to support the Autism Society of America and its lifesaving work.

Give Today

How does your gift to the Autism Society help? By giving, you strengthen our Water Safety and Wandering Program and empower us to:

  • Develop our adaptive aquatics curriculum to support swim instructors and the Autism community.

  • Engage first responders and community leaders in proactive programming, prevention, and improved response strategies for wandering incidents.

  • Increase water safety education, training, and real-life safety skills for our entire community — including Autistic individuals and their families, caregivers, educators, and others.

Will you support all our lifesaving work this summer and make your gift to the Autism Society of America?

Together, we can improve water safety, expand drowning prevention efforts, reduce negative outcomes from wandering and elopement, and ultimately save more lives.

With heartfelt appreciation,

Allie Tasche
