Health inequities affect all disability communities, and data confirms that Autistic individuals experience significant barriers to healthcare across the U.S.
People with Autism experience higher rates of medical and mental health conditions, poor health outcomes, and premature mortality. Despite these increased risks, the Autistic community faces ongoing social, economic, and access barriers and a lack of appropriate resources, services and supports.
These disparities illustrate why our Vaccine Education Initiative (VEI) is so important — and why I’m asking for your support today.
Through the VEI, we’ve reimagined the vaccine experience not just for patients ... but for family members, caregivers, and healthcare professionals. Alongside our affiliate network and healthcare partners, we are:
- Increasing vaccine confidence
- Educating healthcare providers
- Promoting community vaccine education
- Boosting vaccination accessibility, and more.
