Free Resources: Swim Safety and IEP Preparation

Autism Acceptance Month is almost here!
Back-to-School Preparation

Now is the time to prepare for your child’s Individualized Education Program (IEP) meeting. A strong IEP ensures your child receives the support they need to thrive. Begin by reviewing current goals and reflecting on what’s working—and what could be improved. The Autism Society is here to help you navigate the process with confidence. Let's work together to make sure your child is set up for success next school year.

Drowning Can Happen in 2 Inches of Water

Nearly half of individuals with Autism, and 60% of individuals with Alzheimer's or dementia, are at risk of wandering — often toward water, where even a few inches can become life-threatening. The It Takes Two campaign emphasizes that safety begins with fast actions and a dual-layer approach: prevention and preparedness.

The Autism Society is equipping families, caregivers, and first responders with the tools and resources needed to prevent wandering-related tragedies.

Partnering for Water Safety

The Autism Society of America is proud to partner with Kiefer Aquatics, a trusted name in swim gear and water safety since 1947.

Drowning remains one of the leading causes of death for Autistic children, making access to swim education, adaptive gear, and safety resources more critical than ever. Together, we’re working to raise awareness and provide families with the tools they need to help every swimmer stay safe, confident, and supported in and around the water. Join us in supporting this vital mission.

Protect Medicaid Funding

According to the Congressional Budget Office, these cuts would result in approximately 7.8 million individuals losing Medicaid coverage over the next 10 years. In addition, 3.5 million individuals would lose health insurance coverage under the Affordable Care Act (ACA) as a result of proposals in this bill. Use our action alert to contact your lawmakers and tell them to protect Medicaid funding.
