Making Summer Safe for Kids with Diabetes |
Children living with diabetes sometimes face challenges when participating in camps, childcare, and recreational programs. Your support helps ensure they can safely enjoy summer adventures just like other kids.

Every child deserves a safe summer. |
Summer break is an exciting time for kids to go on adventures, try new activities, and make lasting memories.
However, children living with diabetes participating in summer camps, childcare, or recreational programs can come with added challenges, as families often worry about whether their child’s medical needs will be properly understood and supported.
That’s why the American Diabetes Association® (ADA) works year-round to advocate for children with diabetes and educate school and program staff on safe and inclusive practices.
Programs like ADA Camps provide a space where kids with diabetes can simply be kids—surrounded by trained medical staff, supportive counselors, and peers who understand what it’s like to live with diabetes. And our Safe at School® campaign helps ensure children are supported in classrooms and afterschool programs, too.
