Hcis,
Tomorrow, we celebrate the 243rd anniversary of American Independence and take pride in the shared values that bind us together -- that means cookouts, poolside fun, and, yes, fireworks!
However you plan on celebrating, if you have a loved one with autism, there are some important sensory-related considerations to make. Sensory-overload can be challenging on normal days, never mind on a day replete with fireworks and loud music. That's why we're sharing some important information on how to best prepare for July 4th celebrations.
Our suggestions should make a safer, more enjoyable experience -- not only for the men, women, and children on the spectrum, but for the loved ones and caretakers who look out for them.
We hope you have a safe and relaxing 4th of July!
Thank you,
Your friends at the Autism Society
