April 10 is National Youth HIV & AIDS Awareness Day

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), in 2017, youth aged 13 to 24 made up 21% of the new HIV diagnoses in the United States and dependent areas. CDC reports that youth with HIV are the least likely of any age group to be linked to care in a timely manner and have a suppressed viral load.

National Youth HIV & AIDS Awareness Day is set aside each year to highlight the impact of HIV/AIDS on young people. To learn more, visit the AIDSinfo National Youth HIV & AIDS Awareness Day webpage [en español].
