Prickly Patch Delivery of Experimental COVID-19 Vaccine Shows Promise in Animal Study

A candidate vaccine delivered though a thumbnail-sized patch studded with microneedles could help address the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic. NIH-funded scientists at University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine tested the vaccine delivery device in mice and published the results April 2 in The Lancet journal EBioMedicine.
