The HHS Office of Minority Health (OMH), in partnership with the HHS Office of Infectious Disease and HIV/AIDS Policy (OIDP), has launched a new HIV Challenge, which seeks innovative and effective approaches to increase the use of pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) medication and antiretroviral therapy (ART) among racial and ethnic minority individuals. The HIV Challenge, available in English and Spanish, will have three phases. Challenge participants will compete for cash prizes for the design of a concept, development of an approach, and small-scale testing of their approach.
Registration deadline for Phase 1 is September 24. | Application Deadline August 16: Center for Indigenous Innovation and Health Equity  The Center for Indigenous Innovation and Health Equity, for which OMH will provide the organizational structure and operational framework, will support efforts including education, service and policy development, and research related to advancing sustainable solutions to address health disparities and advance health equity for American Indians, Alaska Natives, Native Hawaiians, and Pacific Islanders.
Deadline to submit applications is August 16, by 6:00 p.m. ET.

Improving Health Equity for COVID-19 Vaccination for At-risk Populations Using Online Social Networks This study, sponsored by the University of Pennsylvania and the Universities of California at Davis, San Francisco, and Berkeley, seeks African American volunteers ages 18-40 years old to investigate
the effects of social network structure and composition on the acceptance of new or unfamiliar health information. The study will be carried out at the Annenberg School for Communication in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. |  | | Workforce Development | 2021 Young Mental Health Leaders Council The Mental Health America Young Mental Health Leaders Council identifies young adults ages 18-25 years old who have created programs and initiatives that fill gaps in mental health resources in their communities. Selected applicants will participate in a six-month cohort to connect and share ideas with other leaders from across the U.S.
