That is why the White House wants to hear ideas and stories from all Americans who have experienced the impact of hunger, heart disease, or hypertension. Your ideas and experiences will help inform a national strategy that will be announced at the White House Conference on Hunger, Nutrition, and Health in September 2022. We invite you to host your own convening and engage people who have experience with hunger and/or diet-related disease. The White House has created a toolkit available in English, Chinese, Korean, Spanish, and Vietnamese to help you plan your convening. The report offers recommendations for how international policies can be used as models for developing similar men's health initiatives in the United States. | | | | Clinical Trials | Diet and Exercise Interventions Among Men with Prostate Cancer This study, sponsored by the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) and the National Cancer Institute (NCI), seeks men age 18 years or older for a two-year clinical trial to test different combinations of educational and supportive tools on diet and exercise to evaluate biological, clinical, and quality of life outcomes in men choosing radical prostatectomy as treatment for prostate cancer. The study will be carried out at UCSF in San Francisco, California. Men's Sexual Risk Behaviors: Alcohol, Sexual Aggression, and Emotional Factors This study, sponsored by Arizona State University, the National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism (NIAAA), and Georgia State University, seeks young men ages 21-30 years old who drink alcohol at least two times per week and use condoms inconsistently. The study will be carried out at Arizona State University in Phoenix, Arizona. | | | Workforce Development | Genomic Science and Health Equity Postdoctoral Fellowship The FDA Office of Minority Health and Health Equity (OMHHE) and the National Human Genome Research Institute (NHGRI) are accepting applications to the Genomic Science and Health Equity Postdoctoral Fellowship Program. This program will prepare fellows to use genetic, genomic, and pharmacogenomic research methodology and medical product development processes to advance minority health and health equity. Fellows are expected to start in the summer or fall of 2022. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis until the position is filled. Training: Learning Modules in Transgender Health The Fenway Institute's National LGBTQIA+ Health Education Center offers three modules on the basics of health care for transgender and gender diverse people. The modules cover terminology and demographics, health disparities and best clinical practices, treatment, and ways to create a more inclusive and welcoming environment for transgender patients.
