Dear Hcis,
With one week left of Autism Acceptance Month, the Autism Society continues to stress the urgency for individualized services and supports for so many families across the country. With your continued support, we can build on people’s strengths, interests, and passions.
“I want people to know that I’m witty, fun, smart, have a great sense of humor, want meaningful relationships with others, and sometimes I do feel underestimated.” - Megan, Person with Autism
Acceptance is accommodating the unique needs of individuals with Autism, and recognizing everyone’s experiences and feelings.
Nationally, there is a large disparity in access to services, and an estimated 820,000 individuals are waiting for the services needed to help them live fully. The Autism Society’s Public Policy team works together to advocate for legislation that improves access to these services and quality of life. Don't miss your chance to attend the Disability Policy Seminar's Fly-In Day on April 27th, which empowers individuals to connect with policymakers to affect change.
Give a gift today to help the Autism Society of America advocate for robust services that can support those in need of immediate care.
Sincerely, |
