February Advocacy: Black History Month

This February, we highlight screenings and diagnoses for BIPOC communities, Black History Month, and global inequities in screening, diagnosis, and care.

This February, we highlight screenings and diagnoses for BIPOC communities, Black History Month, and global inequities in screening, diagnosis, and care. Our public policy resources include a new texting option for Action Alerts, Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services' new drop-in article for people who lost Medicaid, and the Disability Policy Seminar on April 8th-10th in Washington, D.C.

Did You Know: Barriers to receiving health care in the Autism community may include insurance, transportation, bias, and misunderstandings.

Autism Acceptance Month kicks off on Monday, April 1st and the Autism Society of America is working to #CelebrateDifferences all month to recognize the multitude of experiences within the Autism community. No family or individual’s story is the same, and we believe the world should recognize the infinite ways the Autism community experiences life. Join us as we honor the wide range of experiences across the spectrum this April.

The 2024 Disability Policy Seminar is back in person from April 8th to 10th at the Westin Hotel Downtown in Washington, D.C. Registration is now open! The Disability Policy Seminar brings together passionate advocates, including people with disabilities, experts, and professionals in the field to learn about key issues and advance the grassroots movement for people with IDD.
