Our researchers, including Dr. Aleman, are making great strides in addressing health disparities to build a healthy future for all. Let’s celebrate their achievements this Hispanic Heritage Month and all year long!
Discover how our researchers are working toward health equity for all.
This Hispanic Heritage Month, we’re taking time to celebrate the achievements of our Hispanic researchers, like Jose Aleman, MD, PhD. Because Hispanic/Latino people in America have a 50% greater chance of living with diabetes and related complications, Dr. Aleman’s work looks to identify potential health disparities to help the community gain equitable access to modern diabetes and weight-loss medications.
The American Diabetes Association® (ADA) and our dedicated researchers are fighting to achieve health equity for ALL and bring about the end of the diabetes epidemic. But the fight is far from over.
With your donation, we can make more research projects like Dr. Aleman’s possible to advance diabetes prevention and care.
A generous contribution from you today will help the ADA continue to fund projects like these and will:
Provide educational resources and programs to communities at risk
Advocate for equitable access to diabetes care and medications
Fund groundbreaking research to improve treatment options
Raise awareness about diabetes prevention and management
Friend, your donation can make a tangible difference for millions. It takes all of us to end the diabetes epidemic and make this disease a thing of the past! Can we count on your support to help build a healthy future for all?
*This grant was funded through the ADA’s partnership with the Centers for Diabetes Translation Research (CDTR), at the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases (NIDDK) at the National Institutes of Health (NIH).
